The kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ MultiLLDs project took place on 17–18 June 2024 at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol. Project partners met to discuss the research and methodological framework, project timeline, deliverables, and dissemination activities. During the meeting, the consortium established the main directions for the development of the screening questionnaires, the handbook of good educational practices, the project website, and the webinars.
A poster was presented at the 7th International Conference Crossroads of Languages and Cultures (2–4 April 2026, Thessaloniki, Greece), focusing on the development of two questionnaires designed for kindergarten and elementary school teachers to support the identification of language and/or literacy disorders in multilingual children.
The project was also presented at the ALTE 9th International Conference (13–15 April 2026, Munich, Germany), where MultiLLDs researchers delivered an oral presentation on language and/or literacy disorders versus language differences in multilingual children, drawing on indirect teacher evaluations and direct test-based assessments.
MultiLLDs researchers delivered an oral presentation at the 16th Panhellenic Speech Therapy Conference (15–17 May 2026, Ioannina, Greece), examining language and/or literacy disorders versus language differences in multilingual children, combining indirect teacher evaluations with direct test-based assessments.
The MultiLLDs project was presented at the Aristotle Innovation Forum (21 May 2026, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece), where the team delivered an oral presentation summarising the key findings of the Erasmus+ programme on the detection of language and/or learning disorders in multilingual children and related good educational practices.
This handbook was developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ MultiLLDs project and provides evidence-based educational practices and strategies for supporting bilingual/multilingual children with language and/or literacy difficulties. It is addressed to teachers, speech and language therapists, and special education professionals, aiming to promote inclusive and effective educational practices in multilingual settings.
The Erasmus+ project “Detection of Language and/or Literacy Disorders in Multilingual Children and Good Educational Practices (MultiLLDs)” is organising an international conference on 6 March 2026, at the Amphitheatre of the Central Library, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from 09:00 to 17:00.
The conference will bring together leading researchers and practitioners in multilingualism, language development, and literacy assessment to discuss evidence-based approaches for distinguishing language disorder from linguistic difference in multilingual children.
